Sailing Adventure on the Indian Ocean
The wind was quite hard that day, the clouds were grey. I know that it was going to rain, but it did not stop me to go down to the beach and approach the water sport counter. Three friendly men in their white polo shirts smiled and greeted me. They explained to me that it was not the right time to sail the sea with the catamaran, so I waited for about 20 minutes before they asked me to put my life vest on, and take out all my belongings from my pockets.
“It will be wet if you keep it in your pocket” said the plump man.
“Ok, I will give it to you” I grinned to him
The catamaran is a polyester sailing boat which could accommodate 7 people. It looked cool with its white body combined with yellow and blue sail. The logo of Grand Mirage Resort was on the sail.
I leaned my back on the boat while waiting for the man directing the sail. The boat slowly moved from the beach to the turquoise Indian Ocean. I could feel the breeze patting my face and my hair. I loved it! I was quite happy sailing on the infinite ocean. I felt relax and all my burdens suddenly flew away from me till it started to drizzle, and the wind blew the boat strongly. I was quite panic with the strong wind “Bli!”(brother in Balinese language). He did not answer me as he was concentrating with the rope of sail, but he had a savvy on controlling it. Everything was fine, but I felt embarrassed with myself for calling him with panic.
We were on the sea for about 15 minutes before we landed on the beach of Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali. I thank God and the man that I did not drown in the sea that day.
